Minister Ivailo Moskovski ordered mass inspections of trucks and buses

By order of the Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications, Ivaylo Moskovski inspectors from EA "Automobile Administration" began mass inspections of trucks and buses throughout the country. Accent is put on the verification condition of the tires and the condition of the braking system.

Inspectors will check breaks in the tire tread depth and anchorage of the road wheels. They will check for leaks and air leaks in the braking system, the presence of cracks on brake discs, brake pads and the thickness of all the other elements that relate to traffic safety. The objective of strengthening controls is to increase the security of vehicles and ensure life and health of citizens in the upcoming winter season.

According to the regulations, the tread depth should be not less than 1.6 mm. When the tires don't meet these requirements, the stopping distance increases dramatically. In wet or snowy pavement, stopping can be increased by 20%. Very often this is the reason for serious accidents and deaths on the road.

The total budget of the “Operational Programme on Transport 2007-2013” concerning development of raod and railway infrastructure amounts to 1,569 billion euros

In order to answer the numerous requests for the budget of the OP "Transport" for 2007 - 2013, we make the following clarifications:

Priority Axis I – “Development of railway infrastructure along the major national and Pan-European transport axes” provided budget amounts to 640 million euros (1,251,731,200 levs).
Priority Axis II – “Development of road infrastructure along the major national and Pan-European transport axes” provided budget amounted to 929,587,365 million (1,818,114,856 levs).

The total budget for the following priority areas amounts to € 1,569,587,365 (3,069,846,056 levs).

Contracted funds under Priority Axis I - “Development of railway infrastructure along the major national and Pan-European transport axes” so far are € 600,698,137 (1,174,863,437 levs). Under Priority axis II - “Development of road infrastructure along the major national and Pan-European transport axes” to date have been agreed € 611,670,708 (1,196,323,921 levs).

Automobile Administration sanctions 3 million lev more than last year

Since the beginning of the year until now the Executive Agency "Automobile Administration" had 3 million lev more in penalties than the same period last year. Inspectors have drawn up over 14 thousand acts and penalties are imposed for more than 8 million, for the same period of 2010 the sanctions are over 5 million lev.
Since the beginning of the year until now in carrying out traffic control throughout the country the Automobile Administration inspectors checked nearly 184 thousand vehicles, transferring passengers and cargo.
There are nearly 1,500 inspections of Centers for periodical technical inspection of vehicles and 71 acts are given. For this period are found 7 centers with fake reviews, for which they have their licenses revoked.
For 6 months"Automobile Administration" have immobilized 234 vehicles, which have illegally transferred passengers and cargo. The registration numbers to 20 of them are already returned due to expiration of the 6 months sentence.
Since the launch of direct phone signals of transport irregularities: 02 / 940 9400 at Executive Agency "Automobile Administration" are received over 300 signals from citizens. Of these, 80 were closed with violations, 37 are currently under review and the rest are closed with clear review.
